Summer Bridge Activities: Preschool to Kindergarten
Summer Bridge Activities: Kindergarten to 1st Grade
I didn't want our son to forget what he had
learned in Kindergarten over the summer, so I decided to challenge him
for the 3 months he was off. This book was EXCELLENT!

Summer Bridge Activities: 1st Grade to 2nd Grade
Summer Bridge Activities: 2nd Grade to 3rd Grade
Engaging for the child. Mostly math and language activities of differnt
types, styles, and complexities. Tasks get progressively harder toward
the new school year.
Summer Bridge Activities: 3rd Grade to 4th Grade

Summer
Bridge Activities: 4th Grade to 5th Grade
This is a great book to use to work with your child a little (10 minutes)
every day during the summer months to keep the basic math and language
skills up to snuff. It has lots of motivating rewards built in and
my kids actually agreed to do it, in order to get the rewards.
Summer Bridge Activities: 5th Grade to 6th Grade

Summer Bridge Middle School 6th to 7th Grade
This book is a great way to avoid your child feeling as though they
have fallen behind or forgotten everything at the beginning of a new
school year. My son has attention deficit disorder, and needed something
over the summer to keep his skills and knowledge fresh.

This year, add art to your children’s
summer vacation. Tacoma Art Museum offers day camps that teach
a variety of art-making techniques from painting and glass fusing,
to collage and Native American basket weaving.
“Summer art camps are a fun way for children to experience
art,” noted Tacoma Art Museum’s Community Programs
Coordinator Maija McKnight. “Not only do they view the
art in the galleries, but students have the opportunity to explore
art through projects and field trips.”
Summer art camps are available to children ages seven to fifteen,
and take place in July and August. Camps include:
Northwest Adventures

Cost: members $150, non-members $200 (all art supplies included).
Melt, Slump, and Fuse
July 25 - 29

to experience glassblowing in action. Cost: members $150, non-members
$200 (all art supplies included).
Mixed-Media Marvels
August 15 – 19
